Does anyone else feel like they are on that perpetual treadmill that is going just a tick or two too fast? This is my 2017 Hamptons summer, which seems to be perpetually a half step behind.

These Hot Picks might be fashionably late, but better late than never. Fingers crossed that I catch up before Labor Day.

First thing this morning, it’s the 31st annual ARF Garden Tour. Always a treat, this year’s self-guided event features the East Hampton Village gardens of Dr. Richard Axel, Susan and Frank Dunlevy, Alex Goren and Brooke Kroeger, Carol and Paul Mendez, Jackie and Alan Mitchell, Scott Sanders and Peter Wilson, and Frances Schultzin. The tours are open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., rain or shine.

Madoo in Sagaponack is holding its annual Much Ado About Madoo to-do today as well from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Garden Market happenings include a Talk in the Studio with Betsy Pioneer Schiff, Barbara McLaughlin and Wendy Moonan at 9:30 a.m., Once Upon a Time at Madoo for the kids from 3 to 5 p.m., plus  an afternoon full of potting plants, floral face painting, and DIY Bob Dash prints! This is an event that is truly fun for the whole family.

For a super great benefit that’s really cool and chill, head out east for the fifth annual Navy SEAL Foundation fundraiser at Navy Beach in Montauk. That event will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Can’t make it but still want to contribute to this worthy cause? Click here to donate.

The 38th Annual Shelter Island 10k/5k Run/Walk, presented by BNB, is happening today at 5:30 p.m. on Shelter Island. Touted as the Most Scenic Course by Runner’s World Magazine, participants will have the chance to run with former Olympians Joan Benoit Samuelson and Bill Rodgers, with a $10,0000 Runner’s Purse and course bonuses at stake. Better yet? There’s an after party from 7 to 10 p.m.,at the Island Boatyard and Marina on Shelter Island. The family-friendly event, which features food trucks, music by DJ Twilo, a kids’ fun area, and more, is open to runners and the public. This year, proceeds from the Shelter Island Run will benefit the Shelter Island 10K Community Fund and various charities such as East End Hospice and The Timothy Hill Children’s Ranch.

The Hetrick-Martin Institute is hosting its big School’s Out fundraiser tonight at the East Hampton home of Lisa and James Cohen. The event, which benefits the nation’s oldest and largest LGBTQ youth service, will feature special guests Tracy Anderson, Margaret Russell,  Martha Stewart and Rosanna Scotto. Can’t wait for this one!

After School’s Out, I’ll be heading over to A Night in Havana All Against Abuse Gala, courtesy The Retreat. That sold-out event will be held at The Field House on Butter Lane in Bridgehampton and features a performance by Maria Bacardi, live salsa music with Mambo Loco, Monte Carlo-style gaming, DJ, dancing, Cuban-inspired food by Art of Eating and auction performance by CK Swett, who is always entertaining.

 Also happening tonight, and also Sunday in case your dance card is overfull, it’s The Boys of Broadway concert at the Southampton Cultural Center. Not only is this gig guaranteed to be fun and entertaining, it’s also a fundraiser for SCC’s valuable Center Stage program.

And lastly, speaking of dance cards, check out Dancehampton‘s Decadence performance  at 1 p.m. today at the East Hampton High School or the Competition Showcase at 7 p.m. if you’re so minded. Happy Saturday everyone!
