Photos: Much About Madoo

Back of the studio

Earlier this month, The Madoo Conservancy held its annual Much Ado About Madoo fundraiser. The 7th annual garden cocktail and market benefit, held on the grounds of the Madoo Conservancy in Sagaponack, was a 50th anniversary celebration of the garden and also a fete for the completion of the $1.1 million historic restoration of the Summer house and studio.

In 1967 artist, writer and gardener Robert Dash moved from New York City to Sagaponack and founded Madoo, the internationally renowned entirely organic garden known for its bold planting style, horticultural diversity and brightly colored hardscaping. It’s a glorious and fantastical place, dedicated to the study, preservation and enhancement an ever-changing, horticulturally diverse garden with historic structures.

Thanks for the photos Kimberly Goff!
