The Southampton Cultural Center is staging a radio show version of “It’s A Wonderful Life,” opening on Friday, November 25, and continuing on Sunday, November 27. Be transported to a 1940s radio studio and watch actors in period costumes broadcast the story that we all know so well.
On Saturday, November 26, head over to Southampton’s “It’s A Beautiful Village” parade of lights, starting at 4:30 p.m., followed by the tree lighting in Agawam Park. Head over to the SCC afterwards for the annual holiday party for visits with Santa, light refreshments, activities for the children and lots of holiday celebrating!
This weekend at the Animal Research Fund of the Hamptons, it’s the “Fall for an ARFan” adoption fair on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, November 25-27 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day at the ARF Adoption Center in Wainscott. Open your heart and help find a forever home for deserving homeless dogs and cats. Also during the fair: music, vendors, baked goods, free giveaways, holiday photos and free admission (and free adoption fees!). And — the ARF Pet Calendar for 2017 is now available for sale. Pick one up for a great holiday gift for animal lovers. This year’s calendar features cover art by Ross Blackener.
The East Hampton Historical Society is hosting its 2016 East Hampton House & Garden Tour, starting with Opening Night Cocktails at the Maidstone Club on Friday, November 25, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. The annual House Tour will be held on Saturday, November 26, from 1 to 4:30 p.m. This year’s tour will feature five unique houses that highlight the best of the best of East End history and architecture.
The Parrish Art Museum in Watermill is hosting its annual Holiday Party + Market on Friday, November 25, from noon to 5 p.m. and Saturday, November 26, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with special hours from 5 to 8 p.m. during the Patron Cocktail Party on Friday evening. Shop for extraordinary gifts and fine luxury items from a spectacular group of specialty merchants. The celebration will also include book signings with Erica Abeel, “Wild Girls;” Alex Beard, “A Brush with Nature;” Jon Gilman and April Gornik, “God’s Love We Deliver Cookbook;” Mary Heilmann, “Looking at Pictures;” Susan Meisel, “Cook Eat New York: 200 of the Best Food Shops, Plus Favorite Recipes;” and Donald Sultan, “Donald Sultan: The Disaster Paintings.”
The South Fork Natural History Museum and Nature Center in Bridgehampton will host a free Thanksgiving Open House on Saturday, November 26, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Please bring canned goods or non-perishable food items to donate to the Bridgehampton & Sag Harbor Food Pantries and drop them off before enjoying SoFo’s scientifically correct interactive nature exhibits featuring recreated habitats of our Ocean, Dune & Swale, Coastal Plain Pond, Salt Marsh, and Vernal Pool; SoFo’s large marine touch-tank filled with sea stars, crabs, urchins, whelks and many other sea creatures; the Freshwater Fish Tank and Saltwater Fish Tank exhibits, and more.
East End Arts is continuing its Annual Holiday Gift Boutique this weekend at the East End Arts Gallery in Riverhead.
And lastly, Marders in Bridgehampton is hosting its 40th annual Open House all weekend long. Happy holiday weekend.
