Three cheers for Sag Harbor’s Jon Gilman, whose wonderful “God’s Love We Deliver Cookbook” has been published and is on bookshelves now. The compilation of memories and recipes from 75 notable people, many of them from the East End, has been packaged together by Jon and Christoper Idone (with a forward by Ina Garten!) and the proceeds will benefit God’s Love We Deliver. Right on!
Last week Forbes magazine released its list of 400 Wealthiest Americans. No shock here that Southampton’s Michael Bloomberg made it, as did brothers Charles and David Koch. Bloomberg, whose net worth is estimated at $45 billion, came in at number six on the list. The Koch siblings share the seventh spot, with a reported net worth of $42 billion. East Hamptoners Katherine Raynor and Margaretta Taylor (and their brother James, who doesn’t live here) snagged spot number 61, with $7.2 billion.
The top five on the list are no big surprise. They are, in order: Bill Gates, Net Worth: $81B; Jeff Bezos, Net Worth: $67B; Warren Buffett, Net Worth: $65.5B; Mark Zuckerberg; and Larry Ellison, Net Worth: $49.3B.
And Congratulations to April Gornik(!!!), who has been named the first-ever recipient of the Sag Harbor Partnership Community Service Award. April, an activist advocate, philanthropist and artist of quite some renown, will be honored at a dinner at Baron’s Cove in Sag Harbor on October 23.
