Calling All Dog Walkers

The Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons, ARF, will hold its 23rd Annual “Stroll to the Sea” Dog Walk on Saturday, October 8,  from 9 a.m. to noon. The 2-mile walk to the ocean begins and ends at historic Mulford Farm in East Hampton.

The walk will be followed by contests such as DOG/COMPANION LOOK ALIKE, THE POOCH WHO CAN SMOOCH and STUPID PET TRICKS. The first prize for all contest winners is a charming crystal dog by Baccarat. A dog agility course will be set up for all to try out. Singer/songwriter Sandy Rapp will perform again this year, playing audience favorites on the guitar. A silent and Lucky #’s auction with many exciting products, services and experiences for owners and pets will be offered. The dog contests and awards ceremony begin at 11 a.m. after the stroll.

Dog walkers can pre-register at http://www.arfhamptons.org for $30 or on the day of for $35. The event is free for children under 16, as long as they come with a registered adult. The event is a fun, family outing set amidst the beautiful Hamptons Fall foliage with the feel of an idyllic country fair. It is intended to promote responsible dog ownership and awareness of ARF. All registrants receive free nail clippings for their dogs, free event tee shirt and tote bag and refreshments including Starbucks Coffee, Dreesen’s Famous Donuts and dog treats from South Fork Pet Company. This year’s tee shirt features artwork by designer ISAAC MIZRAHI. The rain date for the event is Sunday, October 9, with an 8 a.m. registration for the 9 a.m. walk.
