Guild Hall’s Garden As Art

Who doesn’t love a good water vista here on the East End? This Saturday is your chance to see four extraordinary private gardens with great water views, thanks to Guild Hall‘s annual Garden as Art Tour.
The festivities kick off this year on Friday, August 26, with a cocktail Reception at Barbara and Richard Lane’s home from 6 to 8 p.m. The event, which is chaired by Edwina von Gal, (who knows a thing or two about gardens!) continues on Saturday, August 27, with a Water Quality Panel Discussion from 10 a.m. to noon with moderator Carl Safina, ecologist and prize-winning author; and panelists  Professor Sarah Meyland from NYIT; Sandra Postel of Global Water Policy Project; and Carl LoBue, a senior marine scientist.
From noon to 5 p.m., it’s the main attraction–an exclusive peek behind the fences of four extraordinary, water-sensitive, private gardens. There’s also a breakfast on Saturday, which will be served at Guild Hall from 9 to 10 a.m., donated by Golden Pear. And from 12:30 to 2 p.m., Mary Jane and Charles Brock will host a luncheon at their home.
All tickets include breakfast, lecture and tour.  Admission to the cocktail party and luncheon require additional purchase. Tickets range from $100 to $500.
