Photos: Montauk Playhouse Gala

By the looks of the pix from Saturday night, the Montauk Playhouse Community Center Gala was one of the funnest parties the East End has seen in quite some time.

The sold-out fundraiser (more than 400 people showed up) was held in honor of Montauk residents George F. Biondo and Perry B. Duryea III,. The annual benefit got down and funky, as Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue (underwritten by The Surf Lodge) brought the crowd to the dance floor. Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith also  jumped in for an amazing rendition of his band’s big hit “Give it Away”—to the delight of the crowd. Additionally, guests enjoyed great New Orleans-inspired fare, with a raw bar by Montauk Shellfish Company, and wine/spirits/beer from Montauk Rumrunners, Montauk Brewing Co. and Stonecrop Wines.

Proceeds from the gala will be used for the Foundation’s fundraising efforts to construct an Aquatic and Cultural Center in the historic Montauk Playhouse.
