You know it’s summertime in the Hamptons when there are multiple awesome things to do on a random Wednesday. Truth be told, there are Hot Picks pretty much every single day of the week now through Labor Day. If only I had enough time and energy to post them all.
For tonight and tomorrow, head out to an awesome art opening in the city featuring East End talent, a classic musical in Bellport, a hip poetry reading in Southampton and a groovy fundraiser concert in Sag Harbor.
The Robin Rice Gallery , which has done a few pop-ups and traveling exhibits to the Hamptons is putting on aSummertime Salon, opening tonight in the city with a reception from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Participating artists include: Ted Adams, Thomas Alleman, Dorothee Brand, Todd Burris, Roger Camp, Lynda Churilla, Lance W Clayton, Paul Dagys, John Dolan, Richie Fahey, Chris Fan, Stewart Ferebee, Mindaugas Gabrenas, Barbara Gentile, Isabella Ginanneschi, Gladys, Victoria Goldman, Ron Hamad, Kristen Hatgi, Patricia Heal, Benjamin Heller, Melissa Incampo, H. In Bellport, “Ain’t Misbehavin'” is staging at The Gateway Playhouse, opening tonight and staging through July 16.
And in Southampton, Revolve Hair Salon is hosting a salon of a more literary sort.
Tomorrow night, June 30, there will be a benefit for Orlando’s Pulse Club Employees at Muse in the Harbor in Sag Harbor starting at 7 p.m. Hamptonites should bring out their best glitter, sequins, boyfriends, girlfriends, husbands, wives, wallets and don’t forget those dancing shoes! The evening festivities will include live music with local and popular East End musicians Inda Eaton, Nancy Atlas and friends from 7:30 to 9pm. DJ Twilo spins at 9:30 p.m., with dancing and drag performances to highlight the activities. Money will continue to be raised for the Pulse Employee Recovery Fund LLC .
