East Hampton Town is joining the East End Council of the Long Island Builders Institute to host a series of continuing education classes designed to help builders satisfy Town licensing requirements. The classes, which will be held at East Hampton Town Hall, start on Wednesday, May 4, at 3:30 p.m.
The first will be a two-hour course on NYS Energy Conservation Construction Code 2016—changes from the 2010 Code and the building science behind the Code. Next up, on Wednesday, May 25, is Best Practices to Meet and Exceed the NYSECCC (Energy Conservation Construction Code of New York State) 2016. The two-hour course begins at 3:30 p.m.
In June, talks continue on the 15th and 29th with Marketing for Contractors (2 hours) and Flooring Next Generation—Ultra-Compact Surfaces (1 hour). Both of those also start at 3:30 p.m.
The cost for each session is $25 for LIBI members and $40 for non-members. Participants may register by calling LIBI at (631) 232-2345. Limited at-the-door registration will be possible, pending space availability. The Energy Code sessions are state approved for Continuing Education Units (CEU) for code inspectors, home inspectors, the Building Performance Institute, and the American Institute of Architects (AIA). The “Flooring Next Generation” session is approved for 1 CEU for the AIA.
