Brace Yourselves for a CROWDED Summer in the Hamptons

Brace yourselves my year-rounding East Ender friends. Not only have we broken the seal already on seasonal rentals early this year, the prices are much bigger than ever before AND experts predict that it’s going to be one freaking busy summer. Good for the economy, not so much for our anxiety thresholds if we plan to step even a foot out of the house between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

As the New York Times and Newsday have recently reported, rental prices are up across the board–due to softer sales in the double-million-dollar ranges at 2015 year’s end, they say–and lotsa money has already been plunked down for temporary ownership of the crème de la crème of summer properties.

Here are pictures and links the the top three most expensive rentals listed right now:

$2.5 million oceanfront estate in Southampton

$1.75 million oceanfront estate in Water Mill

$1.2 million oceanfront in Southampton

And here are more pictures and links some of the priciest throughout the South Fork, by area, per HREO.

For East Hampton, Amagansett and Wainscott — $800,000 Oceanfront East Hampton

For Sag Harbor, North Haven, Noyac and North Sea Harbor — $780,000 Sag Harbor on the Bay

For Montauk — $500,000 Montauk Modern on the Ocean

For Westhampton Beach, Westhampton, Quogue and Quiogue — $400,000 Westhampton Beach Waterfront

For Shelter Island — $350,000 for July through Labor Day Waterfront

For Hampton Bays, East Quogue and Shinnecock — $225,000 Hampton Bays Waterfront
