The Town of East Hampton is doing whatever it can to make sure that potential landlords are in compliance with the new rental registry law and application process. To that end, the Town is offering workshops to real estate agents, landlords, and anyone else who might be interested in the legislation.
During each workshop, Town staff will walk participants through the rental registry application process and answer any questions. All workshops will be held in the main meeting room of Town Hall at 159 Pantigo Road. Register by phone or email with the East Hampton Town Supervisor’s Office at (631) 324-4140 or at email@example.com.
- For real estate pros only, workshops are being offered at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 20.
- General public sessions will be offered on Wednesday, January 27, at 1, 3 and 5 p.m.
Rental Registry applications will become available on the EH Town website (www.ehamptonny.gov) or at the Building Department (300 Pantigo Place), and the Town will begin accepting completed applications on Friday, January 15. Keep in mind that the form may be filled out online, but must be submitted either in person or by mail, along with the $100 application fee. The Building Department will handle and process the applications. For additional information, call the Building Department at (631) 324-4145 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The EH Town Building Department will begin issuing rental registration numbers on February 1. And on May 1, full enforcement will be in effect.
