More than 400 animal lovers turned up to the annual Bow Wow Meow Ball, which raised $700,000 to benefit the Animal Rescue Fund of The Hamptons on Saturday, August 15. Among those who enjoyed the evening of dinner and dancing at ARF’s 22-acre campus included: internationally acclaimed architect Peter Marino, who was honored; Brooke Shields, who emceed the evening; current board members Kathy and Billy Rayner; plus Chris Henchy, Robert Wilson, Jane Trapnell, Kathy and Billy Rayner, Leslie Alexander and Liz Brown, Lisa and Brian McCarthy, Priscilla and Christopher Whittle, Raphael DeNiro, Barbara Slifka, Barbara and Donald Zucker, Alex Papachristidis, David Monn, William Rudin, Tommy and Heather Leeds, Patricia Stewart and Frank McNamara, Bettina Zilkha, Alison Mazzola, Carol and Bill Dollard, Carol Mack, Debbie and John Loeffler, Pam and Peter Fabricant, Virginia Coleman, Christina and Alan McDonald, Gordon Hoppe and Michael Breault.
The entertainment included dancers from the New York City Ballet and Peter Duchin and his orchestra. Benjamin Doller of Sotheby’s served as auctioneer for the live auction. The large tent was decorated by Alex Papacristidis and David Monn. Joining in the evening’s festivities was a selection of ARF cats and dogs available for adoption. One puppy and two kittens found loving homes as a direct result of the celebration.
