Founders Day: Southampton’s 375th Birthday Celebration

So glad I went to Southampton’s 375th Anniversary Founders Day Celebration at Conscience Point in North Sea yesterday.

Of course it was great to run into so many friends, but more important was the message of remembrance and how we must respect our true history. The all-day family event included programs in marine biology and aquaculture, food, and plenty of socializing, but it was the acknowledgement of  North Sea’s Native American past that really struck a chord. The final program of the day, a Shinnecock tribe historical reenactment of the  the 1640 landing of English pioneers won’t soon be forgotten.
