Oh boy, this is going to be a heck of a theater season this summer in the Hamptons!
“The New Sincerity” opens tonight at Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor. I can’t wait to see this show! Will be sure to share my review as soon as it appears next week in the Express.
In the meantime, here’s a small bit of what I know:
The new drama, written by Alena Smith (who writes for Montauk-set “The Affair” and was named one of Variety‘s 10 TV Writers To Watch), and directed by Bob Balaban (oh, we all already know how much I fangirl this man), runs from tonight through June 14. The plot revolves around a young journalist who gets involved in an Occupy-style movement and finds herself in a love triangle. The show stars Teddy Bergman (Julie and Julia, Law and Order: SVU), Peter Mark Kendall (Girls, The Americans) Justine Lupe (Cristela, Shameless) as Rose, and Elvy Yost (Pocatello, The Belle of Belfast ).
Tonight is a “Pay What You Can” performance at 7 pm. Tickets are limited and will be available at the Box Office beginning at 2 p.m. and are sponsored by Peconic Landing. For reservations to upcoming shows, visit www.baystreet.org
