Baldwin, Seinfeld, Clinton and More Show Up for David Letterman

East Enders represented last night for (fellow former Hoosier) David Letterman’s final “Late Show” appearance.

Making up a significant portion of the show, Hamptonites who dropped in included Alec Baldwin, Barbara Walters and Jerry Seinfeld. Bill Clinton also stopped by, via prerecorded message. And Steve Martin, who has appeared with his bluegrass band (great show!) at Guild Hall and also has lots of Hamptons ties, also appeared.

During the final Top 10 of Letterman’s 6,028 broadcast/three-decade career, Alec got the “Things I’ve Always Wanted to Say to Dave” party started with, “Of all the talk shows yours is the one most geographically convenient to my home.” Barbara told the “Late Show” header that he smelled like a dictator; Jerry lamented his future career without Dave, and then bucked up, natch; and Steve dissed the acerbic host’s physical appearance.

Here’s the clip:

On Monday night, class act Jimmy Fallon gave an emotional tribute to his fellow late-night host and competitor on his “Tonight Show.” Bravo. Here’s a video of his homage:
