Lots and lots of friends are in this weekend’s selection of Hot Picks. Yay for them! Make sure to head out and support our locals, in the arts and everywhere else.

* Pianist William Hobbs will play the Salon Series at the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill, on Friday, October 17, at 6 p.m. http://www.parrishart.org

* The long awaited and ever popular Birdhouse Auction will be held on Saturday, October 18, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Southampton Social Club. This, the 10th annual, will be the final year that artist Karyn Mannix will host the ever popular event, which benefits Lucia’s Angels. The fundraiser is appropriately titled “Bye Bye Birdie” and will include the one-of-a-kind birdhouse artwork of 100 artists. * Also on Saturday night, Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor will host “Masters of the Telecaster: A Night of Roots Rock n’ Roll.” The musical program will include GE Smith, Larry Campbell, Jim Weider and Taylor Barton, starting at 8 p.m. www.baystreet.org

* Landscape designer Frederico Azevedo, owner of Unlimited Earth Care in Bridgehampton, will talk about “Gardening in Fall and Designing Your Spring Flowers” at Guild Hall in East Hampton on Sunday, October 19, from 11 a.m. to 12:39 p.m. http://www.guildhall.org
