Guild Hall in East Hampton will host another JDTLab experience tonight, September 30, at 7:30 p.m. “Tongues Will Wag,” written by Sarah Azzara and directed by Kate Mueth, looks to be a heck of a show. The premise for this musical play involves a newly engaged woman who falls for a male impersonator at a dyke bar. Interesting. Did I mention that it’s FREE?
The JDTLab at Guild Hall provides a workshop environment devoted to fostering East End performing artists and cultivating audiences for their work. The mission of JDTLab is to support actively-engaged performing artists by providing the helpful resources of the John Drew Theater to further them along on the journey of their creative process. Several local talents have enjoyed the opportunity to participate, both on- and off stage. http://www.guildhall.org
Congrats to the Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons, and to its thousands of temporary borders and dedicated supporters. On Saturday, ARF announced that it had conducted its 1,000th pet adoption off its mobile adoption van at the new Petco store in Bridgehampton. Yay! The lucky 1,000th adopters were Christine and Alfonso Paradinas, who adopted Molly, a 4-year old Scottie who had recently been rescued from a Missouri Puppy Mill. The mission of the Animal Rescue Fund is to actively rescue cats and dogs, provide quality care and offer sanctuary until loving homes can be found. http://www.arfhamptons.org
