Hot Picks will still be coming later this week but I wanted to first shine a spotlight on one of my favorite events of the year, the annual ARF Designer Showhouse, which kicks off every summer with a ton of fun!
On Saturday, May 24, the season officially opens when the Animal Rescue Fund of The Hamptons opens the doors at its Thrift and Treasure Shop in Sagaponack, turning it into a six-room showhouse transformed by leading interior designers. Those participating this go-round include: John Bjørnen, Suzanne Caldwell and Maria Greenlaw, Bryon C. James, Chris Mead, Scott Sanders and Rod Winterrowd. This year’s event is chaired by Gordon Hoppe, Gigi Mahon and Sandra McConnell along with vice chairs Peter Hallock and Lisa McCarthy. The honorary chair is Fern Mallis.
As always, a selection of ARF dogs and cats that will be available for adoption and looking to find loving new homes. All proceeds will benefit ARF and the organization’s dedicated work to find loving homes for animals in need so bring your checkbooks and get ready to support and spend.
Doors open for the exclusive Preview Hour ticket holders at 5 p.m. General admission opens at 6 p.m. I can’t wait!!! Following the preview party, the Thrift Shop will suggest a donation of a $10 entry fee (children get in free) on Sunday, May 25, and Monday, May 26.
