David Geffen Strikes a $50 Million Deal on an East Hampton Estate

Word on the street is that David Geffen is the happy new owner of Courtney Sale Ross’s East Hampton beachfront Cody House and its 6-acre property.
Fronting Georgica Pond and the Atlantic Ocean, the home has been reported to have been purchased by the DreamWorks SKG founder. It was previously owned by the Time Warner CEO’s widow and had been on the market for as much as $75 million. The compound includes a 7,500-square-foot mansion and subdividable land–up to four separate lots–a dock and 480 feet of frontage on Georgica Pond. Amenities include a pond-side heated pool and terrace, a separate guest house with barn and two vacant building lots.
Geffen, who also owns what has been touted as the most expensive co-op in Manhattan (a $54 million triplex he bought from Denise Rich), is estimated to be worth S$5.6 billion. His newest Hamptons neighbors include fellow DreamWorks SKG founder Steven Spielberg and Calvin Klein ex-wife, Kelly Klein.
