Kathryn Erbe's Joyful New Role

Shelter Island resident Kathryn Erbe, who is best known for her portrayal of Alexandra Eames on “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” (has anyone else noticed that pretty much every L&O actor has a house out here?) is back in the spotlight where she should be.
The Tony-nominated actor is currently starring in “Ode to Joy” at the Cherry Lane Theatre. I, for one, am thrilled that she’s back on the stage–she was a member of Steppenwolf Theatre Company and starred in such shows as “A Streetcar Named Desire” and “The Grapes of Wrath,” which won the 1990 Tony Award for Best Play. Her nomination came for her 1991 stint in “The Speed of Darkness.”
In “Ode to Joy,” written and directed by Craig Lucas, Kathryn plays Adele, a painter caught in a passionate triangle with her two lovers, Mala and Bill. Sounds juicy!
Previews began on Wednesday and the show is expected to run through March 30. To learn more, or to purchase tickets, visit http://www.cherrylanetheatre.org.
