Everyone knows that the Hamptons is home to lots and lots of famous artists but it still kind of shocks me to be reminded that Cindy Sherman has been a longtime East Ender. She is among the handful of artists who I think only exist in the world of New York City art and nowhere else.
But nope, she’s got a 10-acre spread in the Springs, having moved from Sag Harbor a year and a half or so ago. The place is profiled as a “bohemian rhapsody” in this month’s AD. Definitely not a typical Hamptons pad, it’s still interesting in that it also doesn’t look overmuch what one would assume to be the famous photographer’s taste either. But hey, what do I know?
Here’s a link to the story. The attached photo was shot by Jason Schmidt for AD.
