Hilaria and Alec Baldwin are the happy and proud parents of their baby daughter, who was born at Mt. Sinai hospital in Manhattan yesterday.
Hilaria tweeted “We are overjoyed to announce the birth of our daughter Carmen Gabriela. She is absolutely perfect” last night just before 8 p.m. She tagged her husband and step-daughter, Ireland, on the post.
Alec’s now eldest daughter was exuberant (and clearly a teenager), tweeting back, “Welcome to the world, Carmen! I’m a f*@&ing sister! The best big sister!! Love you so much.” She also posted a detailed, lengthy 10-point list of advice for baby girl Baldwin on her Tumblr account this morning, which her father posted on his Twitter account (no official tweets from him, as he has sworn on and off the social networking site a few times in the past) .
Yesterday was a big day for the Baldwin family, obviously. It was also announced last night just before 6 p.m. that Alec, a staunch supporter of the arts and of East End cultural organizations, had been voted the Board President of Guild Hall in East Hampton. This is big and happy news for all of us out here who support the arts. When it comes to his causes, Alec not only opens his wallet, he’s also deeply personally committed and shows up to do the work. His leadership and generosity is admirable.
BTW–How cute is this photo I took of Alec and Hilaria at Grey Gardens (once home to Big and Little Edie Bouvier Beale and now to Ben Bradlee and Sally Quinn) in East Hampton earlier this month. She’s a beautiful woman, inside and out, and it’s no secret that Alec has said she’s made him a better man. I absolutely agree, one thousand percent.
Cheers to the Baldwins and their continued happiness!
